I had a hen that was egg bound and I was unable to get her to pass the egg. Tried warm soaks, giving her calcium & vitamins, but no luck. She ended up having the egg break inside her (I think). When I culled her she was full of yellow liquid! It looked like urine, but had no smell. It had small chunks of yellow that looked like it had been yolk that pickled (or something) in the liquid inside her. There was also a tiny bit of white that looked like maybe it was egg white that had done the same thing as the yolk.
Any way, I want to feed her carcass back to the flock. My hubby said he doesn't think it would be safe for the other chickens.
Anyone have any thoughts??
