Like so many others on this site, I'm a newbie. I have 2 one year old Barred Rocks, 2 white non-breeds (got 'em from Amish community close to my house), and 2 OLD Arucanas. Not sure how old the Arucanas are, but one was still laying up until about 3 days ago when she laid a ginormous egg. It had 2 yokes in it. Now she is panting, holding her wings out, mouth open, moving slow, and last night I noticed a white mucous in the corner of the beak. Hasn't laid since. Her sister seems fine, is sticking close by her almost as if she's trying to sooth her. I don't know what to do.
Oh, she has a poopy vent area. From what I have read it may be egg bound? My gut tells me its an egg laying problem, her egg factory may be messed up.
I really am brand new to chickens and don't know what to do. Can someone help me?
