My little silkie has been laying an egg a day for the last few weeks, but yesterday nothing and today nothing... I thought she was being broody and not leaving the nest so I picked her up today to move her, it appears that she was losing feathers underneath her and she was being very quiet and still. Then from nowhere, POW!.. something round large with a white egg shape dropped out, very soft then even more disgusting was this HUGE black tar looking thing, I believe it was only poo, but never, I mean never have I seen anything that size come out of any of my chickens.. it almost reminded you of a piece of charcoal... after that she was thrilled to get it out... she started dancing and crap... literally!..anyone ever witness anything like that??
