Hello 👋🏻
We only have two hens left;(
They pal around together but a few days ago one of them started picking on the other so much that they had to be separated. I let them out to roam. The aggressor was grazing while the other came out to walk around, flapped her wing, puffed herself up and went back into the coop as if to lay. My question is if a chicken is egg bound, will you be able to see it by lifting her up?? I don’t see anything but she is acting funny. Any input would be appreciated!!

If a chicken doesn't feel well, they may be susceptible to bullying, so yes, that's a clue something is going on. Other signs of egg binding are wet butt feathers from changes in the oviduct that cause fluids to be diverted rather than absorbed.

A hen having trouble with an egg will be uncharacteristically silent and may self isolate. She may sit in a nest for a lengthy time or she may find a corner to just sit silently. Give one tablet of calcium directly into her beak to help her develop contractions to push the egg out. It does no harm giving the calcium if this is the wrong call.
