Egg bound? Or am I missing something?

It is not that hard on them to insert a finger only one inch inside the bent to feel for a stuck egg or contents of a broken or collapsed egg. It takes a few seconds.

I would use a poultry tonic such as Poultry NutriDrench or Poultry Cell, or a dry mix such as Poultry Booster that can be added to feed with a couple of drops of oil to get it to stick to feed.
Okay, I'm going to go for it and do another soft internal. I've got plenty of nutridrench so I'll certainly add that to my mix of vitamins. Thank you so much.

I'm going to give her a bath shortly. Finishing up breakfast/ snack with the kids and I'll bring her in for another soak. Thanks so much for your help

Edited to add that yes, I am continuing antibiotics!

Great and please do let us know how she's doing!

Alright, so here's the latest..

I just went out with some hard boiled egg (she scarfed it down) and she had her nutridrench. I did not feel an egg and her belly felt a bit squishy. It by no means screamed water belly or anything to me but I'm just unsure if that could indicate something else? Could this be the beginning of ascites? Shes still just not doing well ...

It would be hard to know if it is the beginning of signs of internal laying, salpingitis, or ascites. Or if she is just a little fat there. I have had a few hens with huge lower bellies that have lived a couple of years after developing that, and I usually do a necropsy to check on what is in there. I don’t intervene much, but just try to keep them eating and able to run around with the flock.

Some hens that have had egg laying problems just quit laying altogether, and later may die of unknown causes. I necropsy everyone now since my chickens are all over 6 or 7. Usually when they are sick, they separate themselves and act lethargic, not eating well or sometimes not roosting. Checking the crop for emptying overnight is always good to keep tract of in a sick chicken. Crop problems may accompany laying disorders.

Thanks so much for taking the time to help. I'll prob bring her out another boiled egg mixed with some mash later. I'll make sure her crop is nice and full for bed time and I'll know for sure tomorrow if its.emptied. she isn't moving herself to eat or drink at all. If I wasnt forcing it and helping her to the food and water she would just waste away at this point.

I did mean to mention earlier that she is pooping. On Tuesday she was having these bright green stools but they have now turned to he firm again and "normal" but I feel like they have a bit more urates than normal. If God forbid she passes I think I'll have my husband open her up and see what we can and cant find. I hope this passes by the weekend and it can just be a learning experience.

Thanks again

So, these are my findings from her this am. Bright green stools again and she laid either a soft shelled egg and ate the shell or just straight egg matter. She is still not doing any better. What do I do to help her?? What the heck is going on??

Her droppings still look like she is not eating much. Sorrry that she is not feeling better. I would continue giving her calcium with vitamin D. Vitamins can also help with appetite. I would try to get her to eat some chicken crumbles or pellets mixed with a lot of water, and you can add some egg to it to get her interested in eating. Can you get any antibiotics, such as amoxicillin or Baytril (enrofloxacin?) You can get either online, and they could help with a reproductve infection. Here is where to get Baytril (enrofloxacin) https://www.jedds.com/shop/misc/

And amoxicillin:https://www.revivalanimal.com/product/fish-zole/all-dog-and-cat-supplies

I certainly have no issues ordering whatever she needs. I just recently bought tylan50 and have canker meds on their way from revival animal now. I will go back on and order them now.

I happen to have human antibiotics from two surgeries I just had in November and December. Amoxicillin is ineffective for me so I was on cipro and keflex. Can I give her a little of either of those while we wait for amoxicillin or baytril?

I just went out with her hardboiled egg, mash, vitamin and water mix and she was up eating!! She seemed a little tender still but nothing like she has been!!! Should I continue with the vitamins and antibiotics??
