Hello! In true need of anyone’s help. My vet does not do birds and the closest avian vet is two hours away. I have been treating my “Turk” for almost 5 days now for being what I thought was egg bound. My husband swears he felt an egg last night but she is way past the 48 hour mark so that made me turn to another issue, water belly.
I have been giving her epsom salt baths, giving her calcium, manipulating her, drying her and keeping her secluded and quiet but still no eggs no nothing but full and bloated. She is super bloated and feels as if she’s full of water. Her tail is down, she still has good color and will stand here and there and sometimes try to fly away when she’s had too much bath time (20 minutes). She had caked on yellowish poop that we washed off and cut her feathers. Now when she goes it’s kind of a liquify yellowish/white/brown. Sometimes she will act as if she’s hot and open her mouth almost like gasping for air but hasn’t really been eating and hasn’t laid an egg in about a week. She’s been VERY quiet no squeaking or cooing just quiet.
I am keeping her as clean and cared for as I can but just not sure which way to go on this one. I’ve never had an issue like this and she’s one of my favorites.
Should I still try to get her to pass an egg or is it time to start draining her and thinking of “options”? I have been on YouTube and googling for three days now. And still don’t know what to do.
Any help advice and recommendations are much appreciated. Thank you.

UPDATE!!
It was definitely ascites/water belly. I watched a lot of YouTube videos. Went to tractor supply got a 12 cc syringe that’s the biggest they had and a 16 gauge needle. Had my mom come help me hold her and we drained her got half a Gatorade bottle of fluid out on our own. She still had a little bit left in her but we let her rest and she drained the rest out on her own. She’s empty today and resting. I know it’s an incurable disease but today she lives to see another day!!
