One of my girls is very sick. She seems to be egg bound and has yellow diarrhea, has lost weight rapidly, has pale comb and wattles with a very, very pale face. I can feel all of her bones when I lift her, but didn't realize until today she was sick....as her feathers are still full and gorgeous, so I couldn't see the weight loss. She also keeps going and standing or laying with her head in a corner.
I have done a warm bath and the egg moved closer to the vagina but has not been expelled. I massaged her gently, trying to help, lubed her with KY, washed her bottom well, etc. I have calcium I'm going to be giving her in a few minutes.
I'm trying to figure out if the symptoms are all egg bound symptoms or if something else is causing the egg bound. I have meds I can give her, and I can go get others if needed, but I need to figure out what the deal is before I throw everything at her.
We have 8 other chickens. I checked them all today and everyone else seems to fine, no weightloss, great combs, laying (of the 5 others that are laying), great feathers, eating, drinking and dust bathing fine.
Any ideas? Do you need pics of anything?
