Didn’t have the stuff thenSince this started Thursday, I gotta ask if a vet is an option.
Yes, syringe to mouth - I'm 99% certain. Make sure to go to the side. There is a good article about giving oral meds to poultry, but I'm at work and can't get it. I'll look for it in a few hours when I get home if no one else can get it for us.So syringe to her mouth?
@casportpony do you know if this calcium should be given orally? Can you post that link to giving poultry oral medication? Thank you!
I have given it orally and by injection, but I never give it to a dehydrated bird.@casportpony do you know if this calcium should be given orally? Can you post that link to giving poultry oral medication? Thank you!
Can you post a picture of her?Didn’t have the stuff then
@Isaac 0 can you verify how to administer the calcium they purchased?
She’s been drinking. I can give her extra water tonightFor the birds around here, I give it SQ. It can be given orally which would probably be less frightening to new owners, and it can be given IM as well. As mentioned by Casportpony, I would really work on getting the bird hydrated first before administering any calcium supplement. An egg bound dehydrated bird is a disaster waiting to happen.
