I believe my hen is egg bound! She has alll the symptoms and i cant feel the egg. I dont know where to feel i have her soaking in warm water. Ive been doing this since last night. Gave her nutri drench for calcium support an hour ago and antibiotics just now.

Insert a gloved/lubed finger into her vent 1-2 inches to see if you feel an egg.
Is she pooping? How old is she? A calcium tablet would be better, Citracal +D if you can get it, I keep it on hand just for this. Tums can also be used. Nutri drench doesn't have enough for this. The calcium will help with contractions. Between warm soaks keep her in a quiet, warm place. The more she can relax the better.

hi yes i cannot insert my finger in her vent because i have long nails. is there another way i can feel the egg? im very new to this. im scared i could cry ive had DOVE since a baby. shes turning 2 in may of 2022. this started happening around sunset yesterday she was suddenly on the floor. im confused and scared. she eats good but i have been noticing misshaping in her eggs. i have her on a heater. shes sleeping right now. but ive soaked her 4 times already, the vet arent helping. my nutri drench has two types of calciums in it. shes shaking and everytime i try massaging her she kicks and then shakes. shes pooping thank GOD today cuz she didnt yesterday but its smelly and dark brown and runny

Unless your nails are very long you should still be able to do it. Just go slow and gentle, there are very good instructions in the link I gave you. That is the best way to tell if there is an egg there. If the egg is very close to the vent then you may be able to feel it through her abdomen below the vent. If she has been laying mishappen eggs, then she could be having trouble passing one, or she could be developing a reproductive problem. You can also use ky jelly if you have it to try to lube around where you feel an egg if you do, to help it pass. You need to get a higher dose of calcium in them in cases of egg binding, in order to help with contractions, nutri drench has calcium, but not enough to be very helpful for egg binding. If you do feel an egg then the link I gave you has instructions on removing it manually if necessary, it's something that has to be done very carefully. Another article below with more information. You have time to read both I've sent, it will help.
