egg bound

weve looked at the simptoms and figured that our white hen is probably egg boud so we put her butt in some warm water what else can we do to ease her obvious pain?

You can make a steam cage.

Elevate a cage with hen and a humdifier under it. Cover the top with a blanket. Make sure she has pleanty of water.

This will help loosen things up and she should pass the egg or eggs. When I do this usually get 2 soft shelled eggs to come out.

Give her some calcium rich treats like crush oyster shells, chopped brocolli, yogurt and grit.

Thanks Patman. She's really uncomfortable. Keeps flexing her butt. Still able to poop, but no egg. She is completely not interested in eating or drinking. I gave the other chickens some cottage cheese and they gobbled it up. She didn't even come over to check it out. Really unusual. We are trying the warm water bath for now and will probably take her to the vet tomorrow if there is no egg by morning. We are all really worried 'cause she's such a sweet chicken.....
