Egg Bound?

I have a chicken I think is egg bound. We've only had her a week, and she is around 8 months old. Yesterday, she was in and out of the nesting box all day, and obviously not feeling well. Very lethargic and just looks all around uncomfortable. Same thing today. This afternoon, I brought her inside and gave her a warm bath. She is now in the bathroom where I have been periodically running hot water in the shower for steam. She's resting in a dog crate on warm towels and a heating pad. She has plenty of water, and a mashed up boiled egg to eat, neither of which she seems much interested in. She does seem at least slightly more perky since I brought her inside.

I can't feel anything in her vent, but also am not sure how far to probe. As I said, I am very new at this. I did apply KY Jelly around the vent opening.

Any advice is much appreciated as I am a very new chicken owner. Thank you!

Continue to soak her in a container of warm water up to her sides. Massage her underside front to rear while she's soaking for about 20 minutes. The warm water will relax her and expand her innards, massaging should help the egg move along. Repeat as necessary and hopefully she'll lay an egg.

I know some one who has a chicken that is egg bound at least that is how they are treating it I think! They have been putting some sort of meds in the chicken water. Just Saying.

My chicken is an Internal Layer, very much a different thing. I hope you can find a treatment for her, I know how you feel when it comes to an egg bound chicken.
