egg broke in the brooders nest

broken in the brooders nest. yoke has coated a couple eggs.What should I do if anything?

The same thing happened to me with my hen. She had been sitting on 11 eggs for almost a week. Then one day when I checked on them one was broken and all the other eggs were coated and sticky. I didn't know what to do and I left them alone. A few days later she got off the nest and went to an empty nest box as the nest box started to smell really bad. So I carefully took all 10 of them inside and washed them quickly but thoroughly with warm water, a little warmer than the temperature of the eggshell, and then dried them. I brought them back to her and she has been sitting on them ever since. They are due to hatch tomorrow. I'm hoping I did the right thing. I can't see leaving them dirty as I would think not only would it clog up the pores in the shell but also invite bacteria to grow. Good luck!
