Egg broke inside chicken, prolapsed vent

I have an auracana hen who is about 4 years old. She hasn't laid an egg in about 7 months and today when I went outside to check on them all, I found her butt was all crusty and she had something obviously wrong going on.
We brought her inside and cleaned her off and we're able to identify the issue as a prolapsed vent. As we cleaned her some more, found a a glob of egg white hanging out her back end.
We soaked her in warm water for about an hour and she pooped one thin, thick, long piece, but nothing else.
We cleaned the area again, Preparation H on the surrounding area and could get the prolapsed area back inside. But she would push it right back out.
Used a dropper to put some personal lubricant in her vent hole, but nothing.
She clearly has something blocking her up.
She is straining very hard and not having a good time.
She is acting very lethargic and I don't know what to do.

Any advice for helping her get flowing again would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

Had one like that, tried every thing she never got better had to put her down. Hopefully she gets better.

I am dealing with a prolapsed hen right now also. as long as she is eating and drinking and doesn't seem to be suffering, keep trying. I am taking her inside every night and washing her butt with my kitchen sprayer (almost an enema!) and she has pooped real good a couple of time and feels better. it has been almost a week and she is finally reducing some. she is scabbed from the other chickens (this apparently happened while I was on vacation) so I am just keeping the area clean, putting prep h inside and outside and waiting. if she starts looking like shes feeling bad or I smell infection, ill cull her. but until then, ill keep treating her. I do have to say that the prolaspse is not huge like some ive seen.

I'm sorry you're having trouble.
Do you have any photos of the egg white that you found hanging out and of the prolapse?

Is she able to poop?

Sometimes prolapsed tissue is too swollen for it to go back it - you may need to wait for the swelling to go down. Keep the exposed tissue moist with hemorrhoid cream or honey. Soaking in epsom salts can also help reduce swelling and get things moving - if she is not pooping, she may have more egg matter that needs to come out.

Hydration is very important - if need be tube fluids into her. If you have poultry vitamins add those as well. Do the best you can for her - sometimes, if the prolapse is severe and the system if blocked completely, they may not make it.
