. This is our first cedar sided coop.

. This is our second coop we built after we got our three new baby chicks.
 
Yea we use pine shavings and sand but I did some research here and people said cedar coops were fine

I've read on BYC that cedar shavings are harmful to chickens - i hope that coops made from cedar don't!
Most cedar lumber is not the aromatic variety.....
......and the fact that it is not in tiny pieces makes it pretty safe for building with, it is also insect resistant.

Aromatic cedar shavings can be irritating to avian respiratory systems.
