Egg Candling- I can't tell the difference!

And I'm terrified one will explode and ruin the rest. I've been candling and some are obviously good, others clear. Those are the easy ones. The Marans eggs and a few others aren't that obvious and I'm afraid to take them out for fear of killing a good egg. What does everyone do in this situation?

Relax! I always just incubate my marans eggs, I can't see anything either. You will be able to tell if an egg is going bad in most cases, and often they will begin to weep. Out of the hundreds of eggs I have incubated, only one was ever bad and started weeping. It did ot explode, I removed it. Your eggs will be okay. You will see.

I'm almost afraid to handle them- can you imagine being locked in a small bathroom (darkest room in the house) and having one go off! Ewwwwwww

Gardenak - I've handled dozens of bad eggs, all having spent 7-25 days in the bator, and I've NEVER had one explode (though the "weepers" really smell

). I know that eggs can and do explode, but it seems to be very rare. Hope this gives you confidence in candling your eggs.
