Hi all! My 14 ladies will be laying here starting in June and we are planning to try and sell some of the copious eggs we are expecting. This got me thinking if anyone uses other containers to sell their eggs besides egg cartons. We keep eggs in our fridge in a washed cottage cheese container to save space sometimes. I know egg cartons are perfect but let me know if anything else is working for you! Thanks everyone,

I save plastic grocery store bags as padding and put eggs in large empty coffee cans, shoe boxes, etc, with the plastic bags under them and between layers of eggs. I had several people tell me to try this it worked fine.

That's a good idea. We never use to have plastic bags (banned in our state) but since moving we have some hanging around.

Welcome to BYC!

I'm sure you could use any number of other containers,
but cartons really are the best for keeping them from being broken,
and probably the most efficient for space saving in the fridge.

I like to get them in the cartons and stack them up ready for sale,
but I don't wash or refrigerate most the time,
and customers that I have lined up buy them within a week or less.

Best of cLuck!
