Egg cells slant good but no signs of movement

Until now that kind of turn around is completely unheard of, Divine Intervention is the only thing that comes to my mind.

That is exactly what my 9 year old son said! He said that's the only explanation that seems likely! Here's a picture I just took of the little miracle chick.

This is exactly how it was with Forrest last year, only he took 4-5 days to come around. Every morning I expected to find him dead, and then one morning he is not only NOT dead, but also out of his hospital bed walking around trying to get his chick shoes off. I about fell over.

Yes! Thank you, too, Critters! I didn't mean to hi-jack your post!! I'm always a little shy to start a new thread!!

I found a medicated game-bird feed with 30% protein, online. Sounds like this would be best, right? Now just to find it locally! Oh, it's called "Sportsman’s Choice

Gamebird Starter Ration", can anyone recommend a different or better brand? I'd like to get a really good quality food! For now, I'm using medicated chick starter and boiled egg yoke.

I'm glad you joined in and soo very happy for your little guy.... Even though I've hatched out guineas , ducks and chickens I still second guess myself and having someone else assure you that what you are doing is right or a better or correct way to do something is great! This thread helped at least two of us and possibly others! Last year I hatched several peas but never got them past day one so feeling very blessed with my three Peachicks from my stock and can't wait to see if the additional two eggs one of my ladies is sitting on do well also...so maybe I'm not done yet?!! I had thought breeding season might be over as two of my four males have dropped most all of their tail feathers and only in the last day or two have the last two started dropping their as well.
Wishing for two more to make it and you can count on me to let ya know about it!!
I'm one very excited Peachick nana!!

I hope you get some more babies, critters! There is just not a ton of info on raising peachicks out there! The info I do find seems to be very generic and overly basic. I have a few questions!
1) I've weighed my chicks just so I have a weight for each. I've seen pics on this forum of people weighing. Is there a more specific reason to weigh? Or a certain amount of weight they should gain by a certain time?
2) at what ages do you worm them? And what's the best wormer to use?
3) what medicines should I keep in my closet for them just to have on hand if something common comes up?
Can anyone recommend a good site besides BYC for info?? Thank you all so much!

Nothing generic or overly basic on this forum, you will not find better info nor get better help with all your peafowl needs than right here, you just had not found us yet

There are post on this forum on just about everything peafowl, read on and you will learn more, hang with the group and you will learn with us,

IMO this forum is where everyone should come for all their peafowl needs.

Those are all great questions RubyNala97 and hoping someone else can tell us but I do believe this is the best site for your answers!

1) I weigh mine to make sure they are gaining enough weight. Later today I'll post a weight chart.
2) When to worm them depends on when their feet first touched soil and your soil conditions. The wormer I like is Safeguard.
3) The ones I can't live without are Corid, Safeguard, Metronidazole and Baytril.
