What is an egg channel on a goose? I was reading a post earlier and it was talking about looking for the egg channel on the goose to see if it was a girl or boy and I have no idea what one is. Is it just a kind of part in the feathers? Yeah, probably a dumb question I know but I'm new to geese.

Hi

I think they may be referring to the spacing of the pelvic bones which feel like 2 raised triangular areas. I've not found it to be 100% reliable as a sexing method for birds but it does widen when a female comes into lay.

The thing is they were looking at photos and discussing them so I'm not sure how anyone would be able to tell how far apart bones were from looking at a photograph. Thanks.
