I am giving away/selling some of my eggs. I give the eggs and ask that people give a couple dollars as a donation to pay for feed. My customers don't' want dirty eggs, so I started washing them. I fill my sink with cool water and add about half a cap of bleach to the water. I add the eggs and let them sit a few minutes. Then I brush off any poop, feathers, sticky unknown matter, etc... I rinse in cold water, dry them off, put them in a carton and pop them in the fridge until I deliver. I do not do this for any eggs I plan to hatch. Do you think this is a good setup?

Sounds fine to me but use the warmest water your hands can stand. The cold water will drive the germs into the egg and warm water keeps the germs out from what I have read.

I buy a powder that has bleach in it (egg wash powder) but I was thinking of switching to just plain bleach for cost.

I allow my eggs to dry on towels for a couple hours before putting them in cartons.
