I have two Blue Ameraucana hens from a breeder. I bought them last year at a show, and I recall I was disappointed with their egg color (It was very green!) They both now lay a blue egg.

I have wondered if the Rooster brings anything to the party to contribute to egg color, or if their diet has anything to do with it? I have to admit, I'm kinda stumped. I have a Splash hen in that pen that lays a green egg though.

Nellie has started laying again, and is back to laying green eggs. [IMG] Her one blue egg was not as blue as the one posted earlier in this post, but it was still very blue. Weird. Gotta get her paint factory fixed I guess... [IMG]
