Egg conversion

so i was checking out incubators and i found one that says it holds 50 to 60 "licken" eggs. ( i read somewhere in here we are not supposed to say the other word)

How many quail eggs will it hold? 100?

I am only joking when I say that. It is poking fun at the people who are like "no speak chicken here....you go to other list on forum!!!" It reminds me of Harry Potter and how they can not speak of Valdamort. The species of bird that must not be spoken of.....

To answer your question I would think that 2 to 3 eggs for every wiken egg.

But wait for the heavies to chime in. An answer from any of the long timers is the lunker catch. I am just a little fish nibbling on your line.

Styrobator's eggturner with special quail trays (GQF) or quail egg cups (LG) will hold 120 quail eggs, 6 rows X 20.

I have both.

So without a turner it should hold more than 120, more likely 150 or so.

The styro-head-aches will hold 41 chicken eggs (have to leave one out where the turner motor is) or 120 quail eggs...

The GQFs hold 288 chicken eggs (they say less, but!!!!) and they will hold 744 quail eggs (single layer) or 1488 ( double layered)

so for the small incubators it's right at 3/1 ratio and 2.5/1 in the bigger ones... if you hand turn, you could gain a few more eggs in the little ones.. but not in the bigger ones!

just remember when setting eggs "double layered", you have to have room to lock them down!! been there and wont do it again!

Nope, lock down is when you take them out of the egg racks and quit turning them for the hatch.. last 3 days is lock down.....
