i had a chick hatching and the egg dried out before he could get out so i helped him out he is alive but his balance is off and his fawn looks rough where it got dry he hasnt ate anything and ive been havin to dip his head in water to get him to drink..when i was breakin egg away from him some was stuck and pulled out some of his fawn..he just lays around and peeps

what should i do? and is there a risk of disease that could harm me or the other chicks? like possible staph infection? anything of that nature

I had one like this yesterday, he got stuck to the shell. I pulled him out, put a warm wet rag on him and started working it off. Left hin in the hatcher overnight, this morning he was doing fine. There is still a little bit of membrane sruck to his back, I'm going to leave it alone and let him feather it out. Figure it would do more harm then good to try to get it off.
