Egg Drop Syndrome

I believe that egg drop syndrome is a disease of ducks and geese. The virus that causes it is thought to have been passed on to chickens by contaminated vaccine. What exactly has been going on with your hen to come to this conclusion? Did a vet diagnose this? Has she been laying shell-less eggs? What do you feed, and do you have crushed oyster shell available to provide extra calcium? Some hens may lay shell-less eggs due to low calcium, stress, past exposure to infectious bronchitis virus, and a defective shell gland. Here is a good link about egg drop syndrome:

I've read about Egg Drop Syndrome. I'm not experiencing any issues. I'm just looking for a definitive answer to the question. I can't quite tell from any of the medical texts.

Edit: To be clear, I have ducks wandering through all the time. I expect I will eventually have to deal with this and all the medical stuff seems geared toward commercial producers who will cull. Obvs, I wouldn't want to do that if I ever do have to deal with it.

Edit 2: I did finally find something that suggest that birds become immune post-infection, so I guess I shall simply never worry about it.

Thanks! :)
