egg dropping from perch

I always thought I could never cull a chicken. Until I caught one of my favorite hens literally eating an egg. To much time work and energy to let her continue. I am not sure how one would "train" them to stop. I knew I had an egg eater for two years. I just didn't know which hen. When I literally caught her with egg on her beak. It was something I had to do. Maybe others might have ideas of how to train a naughty hen. In my opinion as you learn and grow one will do what one has to.

It is a worry of mine. LEt me see if I can cathc heer perhaps if her eggs improve she willstop eating them- forever the optimist!!!

A soft-shell or thin=shelled egg is fair game for eating as they break easily, it will not necessarily make them start to eat hard shelled eggs. Soft shelled egg are often laid out of the nest because they 'feel' different coming down the pipes.
If you had another ill bird that died, did she also lay soft eggs?
More info needed to solve this problem:
How old is this bird?
Where are you located?
What all and how exactly are you feeding?
