egg eating chickens??

12 chickens and only 4 eggs.

i brought 3 new chickens the other day at point of lay i have had a few eggs from them but they have laid them round the garden and not in the chicken house, so i put 2 brought eggs in their house and when i checked for eggs one egg had a hole in it i didnt take it away then next time i looked both the brought eggs had gone completly??

would the chickens have eaten them??

Any tips please??
