Thanks so much! That's really helpfulBlow out some eggs, fill them with yellow dish soap, they get to bites and leave them alone. also, get higher protein feed (flock raiser) and oyster shell in a separate container.
Get some roll-away nesting boxes and provide oyster shells and grit at all times.Hi everyone.
I've got some layers who for the past couple days have been eating a couple of their eggs. I know it's not just that the eggs are accidentally being broken because today I caught them in the act. How can I stop this?
Thanks @LaFleche !Get some roll-away nesting boxes and provide oyster shells and grit at all times.
I'm having this problem with my chickens and found this post. The oyster shell definitely helped but I ran out and so did my local store. I was able to get grit. My chickens already get a high protein feed. I tried the egg shell with yellow dish soap this morning and they ate them! They all seem okay, though.Blow out some eggs, fill them with yellow dish soap, they get to bites and leave them alone. also, get higher protein feed (flock raiser) and oyster shell in a separate container.
