My chickens have been eating there eggs. Yeasterday i clipped their beaks. I feed them oyster shells regularly. I went down to check on them today and saw them eating a egg. Some body told me it was because they were bored. Is this true? If it is what can i do? If it isn't what is it?
Thanks

i have not had this problem, but; ya might feed them more often & i've heard, put golf balls in the nest boxes & hopefully they will stop eating eggs...

It can be a number of reasons. Being bored and lack of oyster shells will cause it. I also use golf balls in my nest, sometimes it works sometimes it dont. I find letting my girls out a little in the evening is a big help also. They get to run around and peck and scartch around and get some exercise. Good luck.
