Hi, have just had an explosion in my borrowed incubator. Green muck and egg shell spread throughout the machinr. It is day 19 so incubator is in "lockdown". I opened the device, removed all the eggs, rinsed the hatching tray, tipped out water tray, rinsed the water tray, wiped eggs and inside of incubator with wet paper towel and replaced everything (including the eggs). The remaining eggs were outside incubator for roughly 15 minutes. Is there anything I could have done differently? Thanks.

You did the right thing cleaning everything up.

Did you candle at all throughout incubation? It takes awhile for an egg to get to the point of exploding and regular candling probably would have caught the fact that it had quite and it could have been removed earlier.

Candled several days ago. I suspected the egg was dodgie. Could I have rinsed eggs under running water?
