Hmmm ... I have 19 layers, and I think two have started laying. I have had 1 egg a day 4 days in a row approx the same size/shape and pale green color, so I assume the same hen is laying them. Still don't know which, but I think this is her. She was a lot younger here, and I only have 3 ee's.

Then Friday there were two, the usual green egg and a blue one in a distinctly different longer, skinnier shape!! Yay!!! So, I think I have two layers now, however, Saturday and Sunday there were NO eggs from anyone.

Do hens take weekends off?

Generally speaking, hens lay an egg approximately every 25 hours, so you can reasonably expect not to get an egg every single day from every hen. It's totaly normal. (the hens in the union don't work weekends unless you pay them time and a half!)
