Thank you for responding! And thank you doubly for the advice. I'm so sorry that some of them didn't make it but its pretty cool that the others did, and especially the little guy who was rlly beat up. I was thinking we could get a camera and set it up near the nest so that we could see what was going on without disturbing her. Hopefully we get a couple good mommy ducks outa the batch
A camera would be a wonderful idea! That's what we are setting up around our coups and nest areas to keep an eye on things! I'm just happy that we could save the ones we could. They're so sweet and I love SAs so much because their personalities are beautiful. Out of the three broodies we had, two of them were just perfect with their little hatchlings. So I won't say every SA is a bad mom like our third. I just think our third one didn't have her maternal instinct kicked in at hatch.
