I genuinely have no idea what happened. I was taking a 20 minute break from watching the eggs- I came back to them and saw one of them bloody and gross. I don’t know if it’s okay or hurt or if we need to help it. The hole looks too small for it to get out of, too…
I can see it moving and breathing, at least.

Something to note is that my family had a power outage and the incubator was without power for 7 hours.

Oh no! What day is it on? I’ve seen people put a hard boiled egg shell “cap” over an egg that opened to early - with a very small air hole drilled in the egg shell. The air hole might not be needed if that isn’t the air cell end of the egg. Hopefully other people will have better advice!

its on hatching day, i believe technically 22 at this point? 8 of its other siblings have hatched already.
any and all advice is appreciated, so thank you :)

Since it is on hatching day, I would probably just moisten the membrane frequently and not bother with the eggshell cap. Hopefully it will be able to hatch ok. When those blood vessels start getting thinner you will know it’s getting close to hatching. It’s possible you will have to assist it at some point, but it doesn’t look ready because those blood vessels still look pretty big.

Edit: I looked at your picture again and the veins don’t actually look that big so hopefully it is close🤞I hatch ducklings, not chicks, so I don’t know the exact timeline for chicks
