Egg Hatching question

Hey, I just thought of something random.

If I were to buy hatching eggs and place them in a hens nest would the hen actually take care of the egg until it hatches?

Would this be a viable option opposed to me incubating them myself?

I'm asking because i would do this then incubate them myself and risk messing something up

If the hen is already broody, it might work.

I bought some chickens 10 days ago who are laying fertile eggs as they had been in a pen with a rooster. one of my bantams went broody at the weekend so I have put 5 eggs laid by the new hens under her. I'm hoping it will work. Just lucky that I had a bantam go broody when the chickens I bought were still laying fertile eggs (I dont have a rooster myself)
