I've had the same thing happen a few times. Sometimes the chicks manage to hatch by themselves, some needed a little help. Leave the little one at least 24 hours before thinking of assisting. If it needs help, have a look here before doing anything:

Good luck!

Ok I will wate 24 houers I hope it will be ok isnt the air pocket on the big sid of the egg this is my 1st time for me

The air cell is supposed to be in the fat side of the egg, but sometimes, for example when the eggs get shipped, or if the eggs get set upside-down, the air cell gets damaged and/or ends up on the wrong side. If the chick is in the normal hatch position it will start the hatching process by pipping into the air cell, where it will start breathing. It will wait a few hours before pipping through the shell for more air. Your little one skipped this internal pip stage, so give it that extra time before assisting.

Welcome to BYC!

Sorry about the pipping in the wrong end of the egg. Sometimes this happen. Some of them make out alive, and some don't.

Good luck with your hatch and keep us posted on this little guy coming out the wrong end!!

Hello :frow and Welcome To BYC! Hope your chick hatches OK, and good luck with the rest of the hatch.

listen very carefully to SUMI, wait, than wait a little longer. you can open the egg slightly, but the yolk needs to be absorbed thats why you need to wait. i saved one like this last week and i had a hard time listening to myself when i kept saying wait. got the chick out a little to soon b4 yolk was fully absorberd. chick did make it and looks great but there was a chunk of yolk that had to dry up and fall off cause the other chicks WILL peck at the bloody spot.
