Has anyone built a little house just for chicks to lay their eggs in outside of the coop? My hens are 4 months and I'd like to build them a place to lay their eggs.

Has anyone built a little house just for chicks to lay their eggs in outside of the coop? My hens are 4 months and I'd like to build them a place to lay their eggs.

I actually have seen where someone used five gallon buckets on their side to make outdoor nesting boxes. I free range so I feel inside nesting boxes are much safer since gals are very vulnerable while laying. I believe the bucket person had a fully enclosed run.
