Egg in the park?

It is for city beautification. They think that if they make it illegal to feed the ducks, the ducks will quit pooping and they won't have duck poop in the park.

I think Canadian Geese are beautiful but they have fouled the many ponds at the parks around here. They really don't have any natural predators in parks like they do in the truely wild areas. The crash of that plane in the Hudson was because of geese/birds on the runway.

Good luck with your rock

There is a little slogan pertaining to predators. It`s the "3 S`s". Shoot, Shovel, & Shut up. Just hatch your egg and don`t tell the world where you got it. If it is a viable egg and a wild duckling hatches, chances are it will return to the wild as an adult, by it`s own choice. Only ignorant people will fault you for saving that life. Just don`t give them a chance to show their stupidity.......Pop

If the ducks are in a public park at this time of year, there is about a 95% chance that they are either domestic, or hybrids between domestic and mallard ducks. Go ahead and hatch the egg, and don't worry about it. The only fish and game officer who would give you a hard time about it would be one sitting at a desk, or a part timer. The guys and gals in the field know they can't be sure if it's a hybrid or not. The business about not possessing any part including feathers, claws etc. at least at the federal level pertains to birds of prey, and they really mean it. It is perfectly legal to have a wild duck mounted by a taxidermist, if legally taken. I was a licensed re-habber for a state fish and game dept. for years.

who cares about rules this is a LIFE.
you did the right thing by 'saving' it.
If it was somewhere where it can get trampled.
Get and incubator quick or make one because a regular light bulb wont do any good.

need any more help just PM me i'll send you sites and stuff :3
I'll help you all i can

They are most likely hybrids. The local tractor supply sells ducklings at easter time, and the lake in town is a popular dumping site for people who got the ducklings for their kids but don't want the responsibility of a duck.
