egg inside looks fine hmm

Well I cracked open the egg that my wyandotte layed this morning. That looked such a weird shape and had a very thick shell. the yoke was bigger then the nice large eggs she would lay. so I guess it's ok inside. But do need to know I do feed her crushed egg shells daily and she loves cheese shredded is it ok to give to the hens daily?

I don't want to plug her up lol

I give my girls eggs most weeks but haven't given them cheese. Great question- can't wait to read the input!

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

The eggs looks fine. As for feeding cheese, go easy on it as chickens can't digest the lactose well in dairy products. But in moderation it is fine. Definitely get your birds on oyster shell or eggshells everyday to prevent egg binding and give the eggs a hard shell.
