Not sure if this is the right place for this but;

I am finally getting eggs, and A LOT at that ;)

I have cracked a few to find some kind of brown grain looking matter inside the clear (egg white). Does anyone know what that is and is it harmful? Also, whats the final say on leaving the eggs on the counter vs refrigerating them?

Sorry its not like any of those pics. It looks like you crack an egg in a bowl and there a few specs of cracked corn in the clear part of the egg. Picture a cracked uncooked egg and you drop a few grains of cracked corn into the egg white part of the egg.

I am having a hard time picturing it. Is it like this?:

If so here is where I got it from:

If not let me know, I am asking a few friends on another forum with decades of experience to see if we can come up with an answer for you.

Exactly what it looks like but less and darker brown. Thanks so much for your help. Im guessing mine had darker deposit as each one was from a dark brown egg.

Glad we could find an answer for you. I call those meat spots and just cook them up. They taste the same and there is no harm so I figure why go threw the effort to fish them out.

Meat spots can range quite a bit in appearance and colour. They are fine to eat, though some of them are more than a little unappetising!
