Hey guys!! I am so tickled right now. A few months ago I was riding around our pond and found an egg IN the water. I thought it was just a fluke and tossed it. Well, fast forward to this week- I am almost daily finding an egg in a random spot in the grass right by the water, and it has a hole punched in it. The eggs are BIG compared to my Mallards, so I decided it must be my Pekin girl laying them and then thinking, "WTHeck!?" LOL!! I found another one yesterday so today I decided to take a walk all the way around the edge and see what I found.
On one side I found an egg in the grass, again with the hole poked in it. Darn.. but then on the other side of the pond I found one in the water again- whole! I was so excited. So do we think it would be okay, having been laid in the water? I feel like it was laid today, bc I was just over in that area yesterday and feel like it would have jumped out at me. What do you all think? Here is a pic.

Like I said, I *assume* it is from my Pekin.. there was a flock of Canada Geese stopped over this morning when I left, but being as I've BEEN finding stray eggs... is this about the right size for Pekin egg? Let me know what you all think. I've tucked it away in my closet for now, hoping to find a few more over the next week or so. Right now it is VERY clear on candling, no air sac but a nice round yolk shadow. Is this good? Seems like I could already see an air sac on my Mally eggs but can't remember?
