Have had a few that did this consistently...and didn't grow out of it, unfortunately.I did have a pullet that used to poop a little on her eggs as they came out, but thankfully she grew out of that.

I would have "washed" it. Meaning I would have run it under tepid water while moving it around in my hand getting the poop off while being careful not to rub hard to remove the bloom.when you say “washed“...do you mean washed with water or dry washed? i would rather not waste anything. if i found an egg in the run, i would have tossed it...but i know this egg was fresh in the coop today.
Same.I leave mine on the counter, unless they've been washed then they go in the fridge.
