Just found the second broken egg of the week on the roost inside the coop. I'm 99% sure it's from my Light Brahma. She seems fine - eating and behaving normally, but why is she doing this?

She did it earlier in the week, then laid in the nest, then skipped a day of laying or maybe even two, then laid in the nest, and then on the roost again today, sometime before we let them out of the coop around 7:30 a.m.

Should I be worried? Or just annoyed?

Probably nothing to worry about. A couple of mine did that a few times when they were getting started, but it hasn't happened in a long time so I think your girl will get it figured out eventually too.

I have a PR hen that does this from time to time if someone else is in "her" nest box. No big deal, just annoying.

My "aerial layer" always seems to bullseye a big pile of poo under the roost from the night before(before I have a chance to fluff it up)! Now that's fun right there! YUCK!
