Egg laid with gross stuff. Does my hen have an infection?

Hi. One of my hens laid this today. Does she have an infection? Thank you

Oh my! It looks to me that there definitely could be an infection going on....

I agree, it does look like an infection. Any chance you can take her to a vet? If not, do you have any antibiotics?

That looks like she passed a regular egg and a soft shelled egg at the same time. Just watch what she lays tomorrow.

Look for the hen that is having runny, white poop and is acting "off", maybe holding her tail low and flat. She may also be much lighter in weight than her sisters and have a scruffy appearance.

I have seven broody hens. Other than that none look lethargic. Nothing looks different or amiss with any of them. What type of medication do you suggest if I see it again? Is there something I can put in water other than ACV that can help? Do I treat them all? Can we eat eggs?
