This might be a silly question, but I would like to learn more. We have a rescued hen, who recently finally started to lay again after being rescued in September. Right around the time she started laying, her personally has altered a bit. I was curious to know if the return to egg-laying has possibly affected her hormonally, and caused her to act out a little lately.
Wally has normally been a calm, lovebug who enjoys pets. The main issue has been that she started "charging" us and chasing us around and pecking our feet and boots, pecking our hands as well. She's getting rooster-like behavior nearly. I do not feed her from my hands, and the behavior isn't anything terrible or off-putting. I was simply curious as to whether her egg-laying starting could've caused hormonal change that led this to come about. Thank you for any input/info
