Egg laying at a halt.

My chickens (two silkies right now) have put a stop to their egg laying. Now, it is wintertime and that's what I think the problem is, but being a first year chicken owner, I am not quite sure. The temperatures in PA haven't been at an all time low as past winters have been, so I have not exactly pinpointed the problem.

Daylength is the controlling factor in egg production not temperature. It is not at all unusual for silkies to stop laying in the winter - they are more for 'pretty' than for egg production..
