Egg Laying Dropping Off

I have a question that I hope somebody can help me with. I have a fairly large group of hens and back in Spring I was gathering from 24-28 eggs everyday. Now I am only gathering 14-16 eggs everyday. I know some girls are becoming broody and I understand that, but what is causing my girls to reduce their egg laying?? I would appreciate any info you guys might have on this subject.

If it is very hot they will slow down a bit. Also, check for worms/parasites just as a caution. Is it possible they are laying in hidden nests?

I have had the same problem...only now, I cleaned the coop out completely... down to the wood floor put new straw in and they won't lay AT ALL. I have 20 hens and NO EGGS. I have no idea why. It has been in the upper 80's... but their coop and run is in a partially shady area.
