egg laying gone bad

help!!! today i went to chek on my girls and for eggs, and i found a weird egg in their run. by wierd i mean an undeveloped egg shell torn and white leeking out. i picked it up and it felt realllllly flimsey like a paper cup that had water in it too long. eeeeew! we threw it away. just hours before i collected an egg that looks kinda wrinkley. like the shell hardened after it was layed.

what's wrong w/ my chickens? is it calcium deprovation? help!

Do a search on here for "leather egg" that will give you some more information. From what I've read on this forum it sounds like a calcium deficiency or a wonky egg from a young chicken.

The experts will want to know what are you feeding and are you offering them a calcium supplement such as oyster shell.
