I had this question as well. Last year was our first year with chickens and I and our mixed flock laid all year long. This year I have young ones that weren’t quite ready to lay, but very close when winter hit and then I had some hens molting in November but now even my consistent layers, the Astrolorpes, and my ISA brown have stopped laying. : (
I wondered if it could mean there was some other underlying health issue or if it was just normal for winter after year 1.
