Hi all,
A few weeks ago I had a soft egg shell issue which is now resolved with calcium shell. I have 3 Black Cayuga hens. They started to lay first eggs in Sept. I got anywhere from1-3 a day. I now reliably get 1 a day and believe it's the same duck that is laying the egg.
I have their area lighted now with it getting dark earlier. Comes on early evening and goes off at 9:30. Comes on again at 4:30. I know the one who lays the egg is a fairly late layer so they stay in their night house until about 7:30.
Even though the calcium, food and lighting are all the same could it be because it's getting colder and maybe the others are more sensitive to conditions?
Any feed back would be appreciated.
