Hi all ok I have 2 bantams and 8 cochens although several of my cochens are still not laying i was wondering how many eggs I should get a day once they all start laying.

some days i'll only get 1 egg and like today i have gotten 4 already... why such a change?

I know for sure that 4 cochens and both bantams are laying.... [IMG]

Most chickens lay one egg every 1.5 days.

If you are not finding eggs there could be a couple of reasons:

    Are they molting?
    Are they broody?
Have they found a secret place to lay their eggs?
    Is someone stealing your eggs?
    Are they frightened?

Check these out. You may find an answer.

Depends on what breed bantams you have. Cochins are not the best layers out there but they do ok. I am guessing (out knowing what your bantams are) you would get 4 or 5 eggs a day.
