Newbie here!
We have 12, 6 week old chicks, various breeds.
We also then picked up 2, 1 year old Buff Orphingtons. They both laid the day we got them, obviously they had begun that egg the day prior. Since then, one (Ana) lays almost every day, skipping days here and there. The other (Elsa) hasn't laid an egg since. We have had them a week.
Stress I am assuming?
Also, I am feeding Flock Raiser since they all live together. I have read that this is fine for the layers, since the babies obviously can't eat the layer feed. I provide a mix of oyster shell and dried cracked egghshells separately.
I am surrrrre that I should just get over it and wait it out, and they will both lay more consistently?
Thanks!
