Egg laying questions

    Can someone tell me what age these different variations start to lay? Also are they all seasonal layers or if you put lights on them will they lay all the time like chickens?

    California valley
    Brown pharaoh coturnix
    Gambel
    Chestnut bellied scaled
    Texas blue scale

    All of these birds are mature at 6+ months of age however they generally won't lay until the following spring after their hatch.

    Yes, you can force lay them but it is not recommended until they are over 1 year old. Unlike chickens, you can burn quail out very fast with forced laying. They are not meant to lay daily like chickens.
